I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW AWKWARD IT WAS WHEN OUR ELSA DID NOT TALK TO CHILDREN
SHE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN TALKING OR BEING AROUND THE KIDS AND THAT MAKES THE KIDS UNCOMFORTABLE!!!

You also gotta know that if you’re going somewhere where there will be children and you’re in a costume even slightly similar to a Disney character they will think you are that character.
My hair is dyed white and at last year’s Ren Fest I was dressed as a water nymph. So i was in all blue, with glittery blue heeled boots on. Personally, I would have never thought that I looked like Elsa. I had leggings on, not a dress. And no ice themed anything. But that didn’t stop the sweetest little princess from asking me if I was Elsa.
I’ll admit that I was thrown for a loop, since I thought I was a pretty convincing mermaid on land with my scale print leggings. But I’m not a dick so I quickly recovered and said I was her cousin. Kids are more than happy to accept that and she smiled then shyly ran back to her mom to tell her she met Elsa’s cousin.
If you’re in a glittery costume of any sort, in a place where children will be, be prepared to be nice to them. Otherwise you’re just a jerk. No one likes jerks.
Don’t be a dick.
Seriously. If I go anywhere in ANY costume, no matter if I’m a princess, hero, or villain, I’m nice to the kids. They just wanna play!

now this is where shit gets complicated. I was in a horrific car accident in three months ago that left me with little to no stability.
On my way to work, at one of the busiest intersections in Little Rock, Arkansas(w12th and University) a tire flew off of a Chevy truck and went straight into the front of my little Nissan Versa. Now it’s late April, and when I’m made aware that my car model has had a recall by the supplier (Takata) of the product since 2015 due to the airbags not deploying, or them deploying and metal shards being sprayed through the inside of the car. My airbags did not deploy in my car wreck, whether that be unfortunate or fortunate, and I hadn’t been made aware of any problems with the airbags when I signed the paperwork and was never contacted after the recall was issued.
I was left standing on a divider, in the middle of traffic for an hour and half waiting on LRPD to stop traffic long enough for me to cross the street onto the sidewalk. After being forced to call 911 the second time I was told I would have to call a tow truck to have my car moved out of the middle of traffic myself. I could have easily died in this car wreck, and it left me traumatized to the point where I shake every time I’m driving down the street where the accident occurred.
Yall, I’m not gonna lie it’s hard enough as it is living paycheck to paycheck at the center of all these intersections, but it’s even harder when you have a job and have to split a car with your disabled mother who also needs it to get to her doctor appointments 4 times a week to meet with the UAMS Transplant Team. It’s hard to rely on your phenomenal friends all the time and to see the stress it puts on those relationships. It’s getting harder and harder to dig myself out of this hole, so I’m reaching out for hands.
